The Library Catalogue
All NHS libraries in Kent & Medway use the same online catalogue which you can find here. when you register with a library, a PIN will be issued to you so that you can renew and request books online.
By joining the NHS library most convenient to you, you can gain access to:

Clinical Key
Clinical Key is a comprehensive, trusted, and fast way to search for answers drawn from one of the largest collections of clinical resources. Every medical and surgical specialty is covered; search for full-text articles, journals, e-books, guidelines, and much more.
You can access Clinical Key via your Athens account – it will be in your list of resources.
Training
e-Learning for Healthcare (e-LfH) is a Health Education England (HEE) Programme working in partnership with the NHS and professional bodies to support patient care by providing e-learning to educate and train the health and social care workforce.

Access to resources via Open Athens
To access KMPT purchased journals online, you will need to self register for an Open Athens user name and password. Click on self register.
Athens also gives you access to nationally and regionally purchased resources.

KMPT Cloud – IT access on the go
To access the KMPT Cloud, but you will need to log a call with IT at KMPT to obtain a 4 digit pin code to use together with your existing KMPT login username and password. This will enable you to log onto the KMPT network and access your emails, files and drives anywhere outside the Trust via an internet connection.
Audit and research
Please approach your consultant & College tutor if you are interested in taking up an audit/research project. DME, Dr Aamer Sarfraz is always keen to provide support and advise to trainees in this matter.
The Medical Education Research Forum (MERF) is held every four months and is a Deanery acknowledged dedicated and mandatory forum for higher trainees. It is also attended by other trainees and trainers who are interested in research.
MRCPsych Course
The Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert), Diploma (PGDip) and the Masters (MSc) in Psychiatry have been developed as part of the Clinical Specialties Programme within Brighton and Sussex Medical School and are jointly validated by the University of Brighton and the University of Sussex.
The courses are designed for part-time study.
The MSc course provides the opportunity for students to gain academic qualifications at Postgraduate level and have a structured research experience. All CT1s are expected to enrol on Brighton and Sussex Medical School’s Postgraduate Certificate in Psychiatry which will be fully funded by HEKSS.
KMPT provide regular teaching on a Thursday which is exam focussed and relevant to the different papers. Trainees also have CASC practice and CASC Mock exams which are excellent preparation tools and all trainees are encouraged to attend from the start of core training.
