Help us refresh our KMPT Carers Charter
Date added: 08 December 2021
We are holding a workshop to refresh the KMPT family, friends and carers charter. We are looking for friends, families and carers who are interested in supporting the development of a new carers charter, ensuring we work together in partnership to deliver the best possible care for all.
KMPT family, friends and carers charter details how the Trust will work in partnership with them and provide support and help. Our Trust value the important role family, carers and friends play in the lives of those who use all of our services. Whatever their age, we recognise there is joint accountability between the trust and carers, who are an important source of information and support about/for the people they care for.
The original KMPT family, friends and carers charter was written by carers for carers. The Trust worked closely with South West Kent Rethink and individual carers to develop the Carers’ Charter and we would like to acknowledge their contribution. However, the existing Carers’ charter has not been reviewed since 2015 and the Trust has changed considerably since this time obtaining two stars with Triangle of Care. The first star was received for completing stage one (self-assessing all inpatient and crisis teams) and then committing to improve. The second star was received for completing self-assessments for all of our community services as well as to acknowledge all of the other work occurring across the trust to support carers.
The workshop will be held on Monday 24 January 2022 from 2 to 3.30pm via our video conference programme Lifesize. Informal, workshop related support can be provided for carers who need a briefing before or after the workshop. If you require any training or assistance on using this programme please get in touch with us and it will be arranged. Contributing to this activity can be done in an unpaid capacity, although carers can claim for the remote participation.
If you are interested in supporting the joint development of a new collaborative charter that demonstrates the trusts commitment to friends, families and carers then please get in touch on kmpt.engagement@nhs.net to book your place now. This advert is open until 14 January 2022.
