Celebrating Sheila Stenson’s Outstanding Contribution to the HFMA KSS Branch
Date added: 27 October 2023
Sheila Stenson’s remarkable dedication has been recognised with an Outstanding Contribution Award at the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Kent, Surrey and Sussex (KSS) Branch Awards.
Sheila has supported the HFMA KSS Branch since 2012, when she joined the committee, and in October 2023 she marked 5 years as Branch Chair.
Under Sheila’s leadership, the HMFA KSS branch has thrived during significant challenges, including the global pandemic. She has welcomed new committee members with open arms, nurturing and developing them into a cohesive team.
One of Sheila’s accomplishments was hosting the skills development team and overseeing the launch of the South East Regional Finance Academy. Working in partnership with HFMA, she ensured a seamless transition and collaboration with the South Central and National HFMA/One NHS Finance teams. Her tireless efforts have helped shape the future of healthcare finance professionals.
In 2016, she was awarded the HFMA Deputy Director of the year, shortly after she gained her first CFO role. In 2023, she was awarded Fellowship of her professional body, reflecting her vast experience.
Sheila’s dedication to her NHS career spans over 20 years, and as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership NHS Trust, she has brought a wealth of experience and a passion for staff development. In November 2023, as a testament to her leadership, we look forward to Sheila stepping up from her role as CFO to become the next Chief Executive at KMPT.
