Celebrating the gift of kindness
Date added: 16 December 2021
Kindness comes in many forms. Simply reaching out with a smile, kind word or a random act of kindness can show another person they are not alone as well as lift their spirits on any given day.
Children at the Gordon Children’s Academy in Strood did precisely that when they got together to draw a series of pictures to brighten up our wards at Priority House in Maidstone.
Amy-Louise, Inpatient Senior Practitioner, said: "I approached my daughter's teachers in November and asked if they would be willing to provide us with some pictures to brighten up our wards. We have to ensure our patients; their loved ones and staff are as safe as possible during COVID-19, which means we can’t really have festive decorations.
"I was amazed last Friday when I was given a huge folder containing hundreds of pictures including some lovely messages for the staff and patients.
"We are giving them out to the wards over the next couple of days to put up everywhere to bring some additional festive cheer for everyone working over the festive season."
What a lovely gesture and a true act of kindness.
