This is a fantastic opportunity to work with staff and patients at our Mother & Baby Unit in Dartford. You will be carrying out beauty treatments for our patients and be supported by ward staff whilst carrying out your duties.
The Mother and Baby Unit at our Dartford site are looking for a dedicated volunteer to assist staff the with planning and facilitating of a mother and baby yoga class, and to ensure that patients benefit from their experience within the Mother and Baby Unit.

As the Textile (arts and crafts) volunteer, you will be part of a small and dynamic team. This is a unique volunteering opportunity to be part of a specialist in patient unit. Mothers are admitted with their babies and receive specialist perinatal mental health care and treatment from our specialist team. Our unit has been designed by mums, for mums and we have, as part of the multi professional team, mums with lived experience.
We are looking for a Greenspace Volunteer: Forensics
What we need are people who love the environment and can help maintain the quality of the garden, and keep the area neat and tidy.
Activities will depend on your interests – it could be ‘traditional’ gardening (planting fruit and veg, flowers, etc) or it could be working with staff and patients. The full range of activities can be expected, depending on the time of year – weeding, planting, improving wildlife habitats, cultivating, area development activities.
Whatever it is you do, you can be sure that your help will bring joy and lasting memories to our patients who use our green spaces as somewhere to relax, as a space for therapeutic activities, and to enjoy peaceful time in nature.
We are a mental health NHS Trust and so you will need to be able to engage with a wide range of people and patients, positive, empathic and non-judgemental attitude, and have great listening skills as well as good command of verbal and written English. Ideally you will have some gardening knowledge or passion for gardening, and are able to work independently and at your own initiative.
You must be at least 18 years of age.

Our mental health older adults female ward at Darenth Valley Hospital site in Dartford is looking for an additional volunteer to come in and spend some time with patients,
once a week on Tuesdays or Wednesdays up to 3hrs – chatting, playing games, someone they can look forward to, plus a whole host of other social activities.
Some of our patients may not have family or friends who can visit them and so it can be a lonely experience.
What you would bring is kindness, companionship, and a friendly face and someone they can talk to.

Our lovely Mother and Baby mental health unit in Dartford is currently looking for a person who loves and shares passion for arts & crafts to assist patients with a range of arts & crafts therapeutic activities.
We are looking for a person who is able to independently conduct those activities and engage with patients. The most useful things you will need will be a kind personality, patience, and a smile. This is a unique volunteering opportunity to be part of a specialist in patient unit. Mothers are admitted with their babies and receive specialist perinatal mental health care and treatment from our specialist team.
The unit will provide all necessary resources and members of staff will always be around to assist.
This placement is once a week at the weekend, preferably on Saturdays, up to 3hrs, ideally from 14.00-16.00.
Free car parking available on site and travel expenses will be paid by us.
