Forensic Outreach and Liaison service
The Forensic Outreach and Liaison Service (FOLS) provides specialist, ongoing forensic mental health care following secure inpatient admission for both men and women from Kent and Medway.
The service ensures that individuals who require continued specialist intervention to address risk and psychological/social care needs, are offered a safe, effective and timely pathway from medium/low secure care in to the community.
We work with inpatients identified for discharge to offer help and support to prepare people returning to life in the community. We will maintain regular contact with individuals by visiting them in their own homes and through outpatient appointments. The service can offer continued psychological intervention and occupational therapy also.
The team is a specialist multi disciplinary team comprising of health staff. We use a recovery based approach and work with individuals to develop an outcome-focused care and treatment plan.
